Job summary

Plug Power Inc. seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to act as the electrical technical authority for hydrogen fuel cell power systems. You will own electrical architecture, drive EMI/EMC mitigation, and lead hardware and embedded control development from concept through production release.

You will mentor engineers, steer design-for-manufacture efforts, and coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations to balance performance, cost, and schedule. Based in Slingerlands, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of power electronics development experience in regulated/high-reliability industries.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and validate DC/DC power converters for fuel cell stack and BOP interfaces.
• Drive EMI/EMC mitigation from schematic to PCB layout and full system validation.
• Lead hardware reviews (PDR, CDR) and resolve design issues using structured RCA & CAPA.
• Oversee embedded control systems design on DSP/MCU/FPGA platforms; define hardware-software interfaces.
• Define top-level electrical architecture: distribution, grounding, isolation, sensing; partner with Mechanical and Thermal teams.
