Job summary

Lam Research in California is seeking a Process Engineer to develop advanced process formulations and define equipment hardware for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves evaluating data, coordinating design requirements, and driving process improvements to increase yields.

You will work in the Etch Product Group, contributing to next-generation product development and supporting the semiconductor roadmap while mentoring process technicians and performing hands-on lab work.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 3+ years of experience; or PhD with no previous professional experience.
Advanced knowledge of semiconductor processes and lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Conduct process engineering research, development, and evaluation in support of Lam’s semiconductor equipment and systems.
Review and enhance processing techniques and methods in fabrication of products.
Develop and sustain new processes and process improvements to reduce costs and increase yields.
Compile and analyze test data to establish next steps in process development and determine limits for process specifications.
Collaborate to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing process applications.
Contribute to next generation product development and release activities supporting the semiconductor roadmap.
Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to process technicians to support execution activities.
All new hires are expected to be hands-on in the lab as part of daily responsibilities.
