Job summary

GlobalFoundries invites applications for a Sr Process Engineer to join the Front End of Line Reactive Ion Etch (RIE) group at Essex Junction, VT. The engineer will own, sustain, and improve RIE processes and work onsite on a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

Responsibilities include collaborating with maintenance and process teams, designing experiments, root-cause analysis, and leading tool qualifications for new technologies, while driving improvement in throughput and yield learning.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or related field
• 2-3 years semiconductor or relevant manufacturing experience
• Fluent in English (written & spoken)
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians, process technicians, and equipment engineers to meet production demands
• Design experiments to perform root cause understanding
• Drive continuous improvement for throughput, cost reduction, and yield learning
• Lead process qualifications for new tools and processes and implement process control plans
• Support cross functional problem solving with facilities, maintenance and equipment engineering
• Create, execute and improve standard work
• Partner with integration, equipment, and quality engineering teams to develop new technologies
• Communicate with co-workers inside and outside the department
