Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction, Vermont, is seeking a Sr Equipment Engineer to own, sustain, and improve the Front End of Line Reactive Ion Etch (RIE) equipment. This onsite role supports daily operations on a daytime schedule and collaborates with maintenance, process technicians, and process engineers.

You will lead structured root-cause analysis, manage new tool installations, and drive continuous improvements for throughput, cost reduction, and yield learning.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of semiconductor equipment experience.
• Fluency in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians, process technicians, and process engineers to meet production demands.
• Lead structured problem solving to identify root cause equipment failures and drive tool availability improvements.
• Manage new equipment installations and relocations as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts in support of throughput improvement, cost reduction, and yield learning.
• Work with part planners to maintain and add spare parts for tools and set up repair paths.
