Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Sr Equipment Engineer at the Essex Junction, VT site to own, sustain, and improve RIE equipment within the Front End of Line. This fully onsite role operates on a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and requires collaboration with maintenance, process techs, and engineers to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or related engineering physical science discipline.
• 2–3 years of semiconductor experience or related manufacturing experience relevant to equipment maintenance.
• Fluency in English language - both written & verbal.
• 10% travel may be required.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, equipment and clean room facilities.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians, process technicians, and process engineers to meet production demands.
• Lead structured problem solving to identify root cause equipment failures and drive tool availability improvements.
• Manage new equipment installations and relocations as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts in support of throughput improvement, cost reduction, and yield learning.
• Communicate and collaborate with co-workers within and outside the department.
• Work with part planners to maintain and add spare parts for tools as needed, as well as setting up repair paths as needed to ensure continued part support and reduce support costs.
