Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join its Manufacturing and Technology Global Business Unit (M&T GBU) Engineering Team for a major API manufacturing facility in the Houston area. The role requires strong field leadership, disciplined planning, safe execution, and close coordination with construction, ES&H, quality, and project controls.

Qualifications

Requires bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and 10–13 years of relevant experience (or 14–17 years in lieu of a degree).
Experience in Utility System design for flammable/combustible materials.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and apply standard process/chemical engineering methods with independent judgment.
Develop hydraulic calculations for assigned scope.
Create deliverables including Basis, Specifications, and Schematics for utility systems.
Perform relief system design and PSV sizing.
Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and control philosophies.
Ensure designs meet industry codes and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interface with clients, vendors, and construction teams.
Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
