Corning Incorporated is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead development, optimization, and design of sustainable manufacturing processes for optical fiber and cable production in a high-precision environment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive improvements in yield, quality, and throughput while upholding safety and quality standards. This role requires hands-on leadership across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automation, or related engineering.
• 5+ years in process engineering within optical fiber or telecom cable manufacture.
• 3+ years leading junior/mid engineers in cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years leading equipment design, automation, or robotics projects.
• 2+ years applying Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, CAPA, 8D, and capability analysis for safety and quality.
• Leadership training certification.
• 2+ years data analytics (JMP preferred).

Responsabilités

• Lead new product introductions, material trials, and pilot-to-production scale-up.
• Drive end-to-end process optimization in fiber optic cable manufacturing.
• Mentor and coach junior to mid-level engineers within cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with vendors to design and improve equipment and automation.
• Lead equipment design, integration, debugging, and qualification.
• Analyze manufacturing parameters to improve yield and process capability.
• Oversee documentation and change management for new equipment.
• Apply root cause analysis to manufacturing and equipment issues.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, technicians, and operators.
• Partner with Quality to resolve non-conformances and CAPA actions.
• Work with Production, Maintenance, R&D, Supply Chain, and Engineering to improve reliability and manufacturability.
