Job summary

Corning’s Optical Communications segment is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead development, optimization, and design of sustainable manufacturing processes for optical fiber and cable production. You will drive process capability, yield, and throughput while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will mentor a group of engineers, collaborate with vendors on equipment design, and partner with Quality, Production, and R&D to improve reliability and manufacturability across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automation, Electrical, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering within optical fiber, telecom cable, showing strong knowledge of cable manufacturing processes, polymer extrusion technologies, material behavior, and process control systems.
• 3+ years leading a team of junior or mid-level engineers within cross-functional teams; mentoring and influencing technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product introductions, material trials, and process development from pilot to full production scale.
• Lead end-to-end process optimization initiatives in a fiber optic cable plant.
• Mentor and coach junior to mid-level engineers and technicians.
