Job summary

X-energy LLC in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a veteran Process Engineer VI to lead uranium recovery and waste management initiatives. You will design, install, and optimize processes, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure safety compliance across multiple waste streams in a TRISO plant.

Expect a broad role with high responsibility, extensive experience, and leadership in engineering projects, with a strong focus on environmental impact and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Masters or Ph.D. may substitute years of experience.
• Experience with hazardous waste management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a team of process engineers handling uranium and radioactive waste.
• Design and install process equipment and plan layouts for new processes.
• Develop specifications for equipment and coordinate with suppliers.
• Research and develop improved waste management processes.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all operations.
• TRISO fuel fabrication plant waste reduction and recovery responsibilities.

Education

Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, material science, mechanical engineering

Masters degree in engineering (may substitute experience)

Ph.D. in engineering (may substitute experience)
