Job summary

Flint Hills Resources, part of Koch Industries, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to join the Process Technology & Project Development team in Minnesota. You will lead process design for capital projects, drive innovative experiments and optimizations, and support plant operations with RCA and PHA insights.

You will collaborate across site teams to advance safety, environmental stewardship and site competitiveness while applying tried-and-true process knowledge to identify refinery improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years in refining or chemical processing.
• Experience with process equipment and optimization/troubleshooting.
• Experience with process control fundamentals.
• Experience with project support, design basis, P&ID’s, commissioning and project closeout.
• Experience with simulation software and hydraulic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design for capital projects.
• Deliver innovative experiments and process optimizations.
• Troubleshoot production processes and apply root cause analysis.
• Build collaborative relationships across site and business units.
• Participate in PSM activities (MOC, PSSR, PSI, PHA, MI).
• Provide process engineering support to plant operations.
• Stay current with industry trends and innovations.
• Contribute to the site’s safety and environmental goals.
