Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Process Engineer III to join our Industrial, Process & Agribusiness team. The role emphasizes technical leadership in process design, evaluation of multiple design options, and collaboration with project teams to ensure quality outcomes.

The candidate will perform field verifications, contribute to proposals, and support business development with technical input. Travel up to 25% is possible to client sites and projects across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of process engineering experience in relevant industries.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Proficiency in process and utility system design, modeling, mass/energy balances, and equipment sizing.
• Strong skills in process simulation software (ChemCAD or equivalent).
• Proficiency with hydraulic analysis tools (AFT Fathom/Arrow).
• Field experience supporting design validation, layout verification, or plant operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee engineering documents, equipment specifications, and technical deliverables.
• Perform and review complex calculations (mass/energy balances, sizing, hydraulic analysis).
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, control schematics integrated with vendor processes.
• Conduct field investigations to verify conditions and identify improvements.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and project teams for cohesive design execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and support quality reviews of work.
