Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years in connectors industry.
• Experience with progressive stamping, lead-frame slugout, molding and over-molding.
• Ability to read/analyze drawings, write reports and present information.
• Experience with automation, PLCs, machine vision and electrical controls.
• Project management experience and proficiency with MS Project.
• Proven ability to develop and document assembly processes and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop assembly concepts, tooling, and automation; write scope of work.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers on prototypes and pilot production.
• Integrate product design with assembly processes for manufacturability.
• Create and maintain assembly processes, spares lists, and maintenance plans.
• Prepare equipment specifications and balance line capacity.
• Work with IEs to model cycle times, efficiencies and yields.
• Define process steps, material handling and preliminary layouts.
• Contribute to DFMs, FMEAs, and risk assessments.
• Define critical parameters and document nominals and tolerances.
• Assess safety and occupational health aspects of processes.
• Support tooling justification with cost and operational criteria.
• Suggest and implement cost reductions for mature processes.
