Job summary

Lam Research in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Process Engineer 4/KAT to advance atomic-precision deposition and etch technologies, shaping the next generation of semiconductor equipment.

You will lead process development, specify equipment/hardware, analyze test data, and coordinate cross-functional design requirements while guiding process technicians. This on-site/ hybrid role offers collaboration with customers and internal teams to meet evolving manufacturing challenges.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 6+ years of experience, or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work at customer locations
• Mandarin is a plus; experience in semiconductor process design/deposition/etch is preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct process engineering development and evaluation for Lam’s semiconductor equipment and systems
• Review and optimize processing techniques for device fabrication
• Develop and sustain new processes and improvements to reduce costs and increase yields
• Analyze test data and determine limits/variables for process specifications
• Collaborate cross-functionally to plan, collect data, and report on customer demos
• Guide process technicians with clear direction to support execution activities
