Job summary

ENERGYneering Solutions (ESI) seeks a Senior Process Engineer to join our in‑person teams in Sisters, OR or Denver, CO. Lead complex design reviews, mentor engineers, and translate process concepts into high‑performance biogas system designs.

You will deliver PFDs, P&IDs, specs, data sheets, and safety reviews while collaborating with operations and other disciplines to meet project goals and applicable codes.

Qualifications

• This is a senior-level position requiring 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
• Proficiency with chemical process simulation software (Aspen, BR&E Promax or others).
• Valid driver’s license for state of residence.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical expert in process engineering across projects and EPC efforts.
• Coordinate design interfaces and ensure alignment on process requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify gaps in design approaches and recommend improvements to leadership.
• Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers with knowledge sharing and reviews.
• Prepare complex drawings and documentation for permitting, estimating, bidding, and construction.
• Lead development of PFDs, BFDs, equipment specs, data sheets, and P&IDs; develop control philosophies.
• Participate in HAZOP and other process safety reviews with expert insights.
• Perform material and energy balances; size equipment and piping and valves.
• Review contractor RFIs with technically sound responses maintaining design intent.
• Collaborate with Operations to optimize performance and implement improvements.
• Work across disciplines to ensure integrated, high-quality designs.
• Apply ASME, API, ASTM and other standards to ensure compliance.
• Use thermodynamic and chemical analyses to refine systems and prepare reports.
• Perform other related duties as required.
