Job Summary
The position will provide process and maintenance reliability improvements to safely meet the Lancaster Mill business plan by supporting production and maintenance departments to achieve plant goals. Assist and lead production, technical, and maintenance teams with equipment and reliability issues from a problem-solving perspective. Develop, manage, and implement process/equipment improvement projects and interface with Maintenance and Engineering to provide process engineering support.
Responsibilities
- Support the team in safely producing the highest quality product according to plant standards.
- Develop and implement a reliability system to ensure equipment is more reliable and meets operational needs.
- Implement predictive and preventive technologies to improve reliability and meet customer expectations.
- Provide recommendations for long-term equipment and process improvements, staying updated with Best Practices and consulting with the CoE group.
- Participate in the plant’s three-year budget development, including scope development, quotes, and project descriptions.
- Contribute to the major maintenance budget for the area.
- Develop a cross-functional project team to systematically solve issues and improve process reliability.
- Lead RCA events to identify leverage points for improvements.
- Manage projects, including vendor selection, safety documentation, and coordination of engineering/design and fabrication.
- Coordinate maintenance and production resources for outages.
- Manage project forecasting for capital and expense projects.
Additional duties include:
- Monitoring and reporting key reliability metrics.
- Performing criticality analysis and risk assessments on assets.
- Conducting RCM/FMEA on critical assets.
- Developing equipment maintenance plans and corrective actions.
- Ensuring SOPs are up-to-date and effective.
- Maintaining equipment criticality assessments and utilizing maintenance strategies to prevent failures.
- Supporting process improvement activities and project reporting.
- Supporting daily management processes and developing new technology pipelines.
- Being active on the floor to support reliability and efficiency initiatives.
- Promoting safety and ensuring process changes do not compromise quality or safety.
- Collaborating with maintenance to develop predictive maintenance protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with engineering standards and corporate objectives.
- Performing other duties as assigned and promoting Arconic’s values.
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of process engineering experience in metals manufacturing OR 5 years of process engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Flexibility to work hours as required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship not available).
Preferred (Exceptional Candidates)
- Strong mechanical/electrical and process aptitude.
- 5-10+ years of engineering experience.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and Casting, Rolling, Finishing technologies.
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and results-oriented.
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.
- Operational knowledge of processes and equipment.
