Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer for the corporate Process Control Center of Excellence in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on enhancing control assets, developing new strategies, and improving process performance.

You will troubleshoot and support daily operations, guide selection of control technologies, and collaborate with mills nationwide. Travel to sites 50-75% is required, with opportunities to influence utilities, chemical recovery, lime kiln, and recaust

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Paper Science Engineering.
• Proven experience with DCS systems including troubleshooting, configuration, and design.
• Experience with utilities processes including boilers, turbines, steam systems, black liquor evaporators, and/or lime kilns.

Responsibilities

• Assist mills in keeping control systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Provide troubleshooting and support of the daily manufacturing operation.
• Provide guidance to manufacturing operations on selection and implementation of process control technologies and strategies.
• Work with local operations and process control teams to optimize existing process control assets and process performance.
• Assist designing, programming, modifying, and maintaining mills’ control systems.
• Pursue engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies.
• Support capital projects including control migrations, design, and startup of existing and new systems as a corporate SME.
