Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support PLC systems in the Converting department at the Naheola (Pennington, AL) mill. You will design and implement control improvements while collaborating to troubleshoot and maintain Rockwell-based systems. The role emphasizes safety culture and advancing process control technology.

The ideal candidate will mentor junior engineers and work with cross-functional teams to deploy new technologies in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in Industrial Maintenance / Automation or manufacturing.
• PLC programming experience 3+ years (Rockwell platform preferred).
• Experience with Allen Bradley FactoryTalk platform.
• Ability to troubleshoot and configure AB Drives.
• Familiarity with reviewing basic loop sheets and logic diagrams.
• Read, interpret, and develop control documentation and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Involved in controls and automation design, implementation, and support of hardware and software for mill process equipment (Rockwell).
• Design, configure, and maintain advanced process control strategies.
• Troubleshoot installed systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Serve as project resource for installation of new instrumentation or control/automation systems.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to implement new technologies for advanced manufacturing.
• Support mill safety program and observe best practices.
• Coordinate with mill personnel to identify opportunities and solve problems.
