Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to join the corporate Process Control Center of Excellence. The role focuses on improving control assets, developing strategies, and enhancing overall process performance across the fiberline areas in mills nationwide.

Based in the Southeast or open to relocation within the US. The candidate will travel to sites frequently and partner with Consumer Products, Cellulose, and Containerboard operations, providing guidance on process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical, or Paper Science Engineering.
• 5 or more years of professional experience working with DCS based systems to include troubleshooting, configuration, and design.
• Ability to travel 50 - 75%.

Responsibilities

• Assisting mills in keeping control systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Providing troubleshooting and support of the daily manufacturing operation.
• Providing guidance to manufacturing operations on selection and implementation of process control technologies and strategies.
• Working with local operations and process control teams to optimize current process control assets and process performance.
• Designing, programming, and modifying control strategies within existing control systems.
• Pursuing engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies.
• Supporting large and small capital projects as a corporate SME.
