Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to support the Project Engineering Group in Atlanta, GA. The role provides control engineering leadership for major capital projects, typically $5M+ in spend, with national scope and a path to long-term remote support.

The position is home based within the US with travel up to 75%. You will lead engineering teams, define scopes, and guide instrument and control valve selections across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Automation or Process Control.
• Experience with DCS systems.
• Experience leading automation projects and implementing project activities.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide Process Control guidance for large capital projects.
• Develop or select standard control technologies for projects.
• Provide technical expertise in scope development of capital projects.
• Act as the Project Discipline Lead; provide leadership as the lead engineer.
• Develop/Review scopes, estimates, and schedules for electrical portions of projects.
• Develop conceptual and detailed engineering and design.
• Participate in bid evaluation and selection.
• Project field engineering, including construction, startup, and commissioning support.
• Train operators, supervision, and process control personnel.
• Provide leadership for external/internal engineering resources to drive proposals and standards.
• Provide guidance in instrument specifications and control valve selections.
• Lead or participate in start-up of new or modified control systems.
• Provide outage support.
