Job summary

Process is seeking a Senior Process Controls Engineer in Houston, TX, to serve as the senior controls resource on a PSM-regulated site. You will design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain DCS, PLC, HMI, and process historian systems, and lead root cause investigations.

You will drive maintenance, reliability, and projects, developing scopes, cost estimates, and schedules while coordinating with contractors to deliver safe and efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in Controls Engineering.
• Experience on a PSM-regulated site required.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, troubleshoot and maintain DCS, PLC, HMI and process historian systems.
• Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms and operator interfaces.
• Manage control system backups and documentation; implement upgrades and migrations.
• Analyze process data to improve control, efficiency and reliability.
• Support commissioning/startup and lead root cause investigations.
• Drive maintenance, testing and reliability programs; support shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Lead controls projects from concept through startup; develop scopes, costs and schedules; coordinate with contractors and suppliers.

Job description

We're working with a chemical manufacturer in Houston, TX to find a Senior Process Controls Engineer for their PSM-regulated site. You'll be the senior controls resource on site, working across maintenance, reliability, and projects.

You'll support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility through the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of process control systems, automation, and instrumentation.

Day to day, you'll design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain DCS, PLC, HMI, and process historian systems. That includes developing and modifying control logic, graphics, alarms, and operator interfaces. You'll manage control system backups and documentation, implement upgrades and migrations, and analyze process data to improve control, efficiency, and reliability. You'll support commissioning and startup of new equipment and lead root cause investigations when issues arise.

You'll drive maintenance, testing, and reliability programs, troubleshoot controls failures, and provide technical support during shutdowns and turnarounds.

You'll also be a key technical resource for projects. You'll support controls projects from concept through startup and closeout. Help to developing scopes, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers throughout.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree Engineering. ChemE, MechE, EE preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in Controls Engineering.
• Experience on a PSM-regulated site

Compensation is $140-170k + bonus (dependent on experience).

Must be in Houston or open to relocating (with assistance).

Full-time on-site role - no hybrid or remote.

Must be able to work in the USA without sponsorship or assistance.
