Job summary

Ambs Chemical Search LLC seeks a seasoned controls engineer to provide technical support for DCS and related systems at a Pasadena, TX chemical production site. You will design, configure, and troubleshoot DCS/PLC/HMI and historian systems to optimize production processes.

Responsibilities include developing control logic, alarms, and operator interfaces; implementing improvements and migrations; and leading capital projects from concept through startup and closeout.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with 6+ years in chemical or refining industries
• Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting DCS/PLC/HMI and historian systems
• Ability to lead process control projects from concept to startup

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, troubleshoot the DCS, PLC, HMI, historian systems and networks
• Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, historian tags, and operator interfaces
• Implement control system improvements, migrations, patches, and hardware replacements
• Analyze process data to identify opportunities for process improvements
• Support commissioning, startup, and optimization of new controls equipment
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues and lead root cause investigations
• Lead or support controls and related instrumentation capital projects from concept to closeout
• Develop project scopes, specifications, cost estimates, schedules and equipment requirements
• Drive maintenance, testing, and reliability programs for controls and related systems

Growing site that is part of an international chemical producers. Two new product lines have been added to the site and additional expansions in the works.

Primary focus: Technical support for the DCS and associated systems at a chemical production site.

• Design, configure, troubleshoot the DCS, PLC, HMI, process historian systems, and network systems. Use these systems to help optimize the production processes.
• Develop and modify control logic, graphics, alarms, historian tags, and operator interfaces
• Implement control system improvements, migrations, patches, hardware replacements
• Analyze process data and system performance to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement.
