Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist (Process Chemist) to drive late-stage chemical process development from clinical development through commercialization.

The role requires a strong track record in organic synthesis and the ability to collaborate across chemistry, analytical, engineering, and manufacturing teams. The successful candidate will develop scalable processes for small molecules and potentially ADCs, execute experiments with high accountability, and contribute to publications

Qualifications

• Broad range of functional expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry, purification, and spectral interpretation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

• Develop organic chemistry processes and scale-up to support late-stage programs.
• Maintain productive lab performance with minimal supervision.
• Design follow-on experiments from multidisciplinary data and pursue high-impact areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance pipeline and commercial programs.
• Publish, present, or contribute to regulatory documents and patents.
• Demonstrate proficiency across relevant technologies and maintain lab productivity.
