Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated scientist to drive drug-conjugate process development from preclinical through late-stage development. You will lead cross-functional teams, develop conjugation chemistry and downstream unit operations to deliver drug substances.

The role involves mentoring, collaboration with analytical and manufacturing teams, and contributing to timelines and regulatory documentation for clinical assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS with 12+ years; MS 10+ years or PhD 4+ years in Chemistry or allied field, with 2+ years pharma lab experience.
• Experience in drug-conjugate process development is required.
• Proven scientific leadership and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of modern organic chemistry, mechanistic theory and regulatory starting material strategies.

Responsibilities

• Participate on/lead process development and characterization for drug conjugates.
• Develop and scale drug-conjugate processes in lab and translate to scalable processes.
• Lead cross-functional CMC teams to advance pre-clinical and clinical candidates.
• Author and review regulatory documents, lab data, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with organic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers and program management.
