Job summary

GE Aerospace in Grand Rapids seeks a Senior Quality Engineer for Process Assurance to ensure compliance with aerospace lifecycle processes and audits. You will conduct audits, assess plans, and drive corrective actions across teams, interfacing with customers and regulators as needed.

The role requires evaluating engineering outputs, maintaining quality records, and delivering metrics for leadership. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma with minimum 9 years of experience in Quality and/or New Product Development within regulated industries).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality and/or New Product Development within regulated industries (Aerospace, Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices etc.).
• This position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document process and system audits/assessments of engineering activities using objective evidence, sampling, and risk-based approaches.
• Assess compliance with applicable program plans, internal procedures, and required external standards for regulated aerospace development.
• Review engineering artifacts for compliance and traceability expectations (e.g., plans, reviews, verification evidence, configuration/data management records).
• Document audit results, including clear findings, objective evidence references, and corrective action expectations.
• Drive finding closure effectiveness by supporting root cause analysis, validating corrective actions, and verifying closure.
• Maintain required quality records and ensure audit artifacts are complete, controlled, and retrievable.
• Develop and report quality/audit metrics to key stakeholders.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and, as required, support engagement with customers, regulatory authorities, and suppliers related to audit readiness and compliance topics.
• Provide coaching and guidance on compliant practices and continuous improvement opportunities identified through audits.
