Job summary

McGuireWoods LLP in San Francisco seeks a senior, market-facing leader to originate and develop relationships across the private equity ecosystem, focusing on emerging managers and institutional investors. You will drive introductions and new business opportunities, with a base salary and a discretionary bonus tied to your contributions and firm performance.

The role sits in our Private Equity Transactions Practice, advising across the full investment lifecycle and capital stack.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in private equity, fundraising, investor relations, or business development.
• Strong existing network across GPs, LPs, and emerging managers.
• Willingness to travel and operate in a market-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Origination & Relationship Development: Build and own senior-level relationships with GPs (emerging managers), LPs, and key market participants; drive opportunities from prospecting through conversion; facilitate introductions and connectivity to support fundraising and deal flow.
• Market Intelligence & Growth: Maintain deep knowledge of private equity activity; identify growth opportunities; represent the firm externally through thought leadership, panels, and industry forums.
• Events & Industry Presence: Serve as a senior ambassador at industry events and conferences; support firm-hosted events to drive engagement with priority market participants.
