Job summary

Transamerica is expanding its Privacy team, inviting a Lead Privacy Consultant to advance the privacy by design program across the business. You will partner with technology and business teams, facilitate PIAs and DPIAs, and translate complex privacy requirements into actionable standards.

This role offers exposure to emerging technologies and global operations while strengthening a developing global privacy framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business field or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of privacy, data security and/or other relevant experience.
• Deep practical understanding of global privacy laws and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and emerging international requirements, with the ability to apply regulatory obligations in a business and technology context.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce thorough, precise, and well-structured work product.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex privacy concepts clearly to technical, legal, and business audiences.
• Ability to manage assigned work independently, maintain momentum, and drive tasks to completion in ambiguous or evolving environments
• Collaborative working style with a willingness to contribute across a range of team priorities

Responsibilities

• Develop privacy by design playbook with guidance materials for business and technology teams.
• Facilitate and review PIAs and DPIAs across domestic and international activities.
• Manage assigned workstreams within privacy by design initiatives, tracking tasks, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Translate privacy requirements — including global privacy laws and standards — into practical outcomes.
• Identify, assess, and communicate privacy risks and remediation recommendations.
• Prepare clear risk summaries, assessment reports, governance updates, and implementation recommendations.
• Support notices, RoPAs, training enhancements, DSARs, and privacy risk framework activities.
• Share knowledge and support colleagues to improve team quality.
• Engage cross-functional stakeholders to gather information and drive timely execution.
