Job summary

Databricks seeks an experienced privacy attorney to lead our global privacy compliance program and advise the legal team on cutting-edge privacy, data protection, and AI issues. You will own the program operations, shape policies, and partner with business teams to scale privacy controls across Databricks.

The role requires J.D. from a top-tier school, active State Bar membership, and 7+ years of privacy law experience, with hands-on program leadership.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience with privacy programs (in‑house or law firm).
  • Deep knowledge of GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and US state privacy laws, plus cross-border transfers.
  • Experience drafting DPAs, SCCs, and privacy policies; risk management familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operation of the privacy compliance program.
  • Define priorities, KPIs, and report program health.
  • Develop privacy review processes across the data/product lifecycle.
  • Draft and update form agreements; negotiate DPAs and SCCs.
  • Monitor global privacy laws and regulator guidance; support inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain privacy policies, standards, and notices.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on privacy issues.
  • Lead privacy training and awareness across the organization.
  • Advise on incident response for privacy and cybersecurity.
  • Provide general legal support as needed.
