Job summary

SAIC in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Principal Test Engineer to support the MDUSV program and related Test & Evaluation activities. The role requires local presence in San Diego and travel up to 15%.

The candidate will work with Government IPT Lead to develop and execute directed T&E events for autonomous systems on developmental surface vessels. A Secret clearance is required after start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 14+ years related experience.
• 5 years experience with Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV).
• 5 years coordinating and supporting at-sea test events.
• 5 years experience with vessel autonomy systems and operations.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance after start.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate personnel and finances for multi-million-dollar programs.
• Lead autonomy development and integration to support unmanned operations.
• Oversee autonomous test, evaluation, data collection and reporting.
• Support NIWC program leadership briefings and reporting requirements.
• Conduct tests and ship riding as part of testing.
