Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Structural Engineer in Roy, Utah to support the Sentinel program.

The role focuses on structural analysis of facilities and subsystems, ensuring robust design and integration with adjacent engineering disciplines. The position requires a DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship, and extensive experience in structures, dynamics, and vibroacoustic analysis, with proficiency in MATLAB and major FEA tools.

Qualifications

• US citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance and investigation date within 6 years.
• Strong knowledge of structures, statics, strength of materials, structural dynamics principles, and methods.
• Collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines in a highly integrated environment.
• Proficient in MATLAB for analysis and data manipulation.
• Experience running modal transient analysis in Nastran or equivalent.
• Experience with vibroacoustic analysis.
• Experience with time and frequency domain and/or random vibration analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design/analysis of facilities and related subsystems to support the Sentinel upgrade.
• Analyze structural engineering specifications for product design and operation.
• Utilize CATIA/IDEAS/ProEngineer and software tools for structural modeling.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, and design/test teams.
