Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Design Engineer to join the infrastructure design team in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel program.

The role covers civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical design for launch facilities and infrastructure, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a STEM degree with several years in related design work, with DoD clearances and knowledge of UFC, MIL-STD and related codes.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM bachelor’s degree with 5+ years related experience; or a master’s with 3+ years (Sr. Principal: 8+/6+).
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and SAP clearance.
• Experience in civil/structural, mechanical, or electrical design on MILCON or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical systems design for Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.
• Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
• Participate in design/model reviews and ensure quality across disciplines.
• Review subcontractor designs to ensure adherence to current standards and integration.
• Support the delivery of facility design Technical Data Packages and IFCs.
• Conduct structured trade studies to evaluate design options and resolve issues.
• Develop and present design change requests and manage configuration control.
