Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer in Roy, UT to support the Sentinel program. You will perform advanced structural analysis on metallic and composite structures, collaborate across disciplines and prepare documentation for technical review.

Ideal candidate has strong Finite Element experience (Nastran/ABAQUS/ANSYS), CAD cleanup skills, and a clear track record in aerospace structure design, analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or STEM with required experience per posting.
• US Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain SAP access as needed.
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills to convey complex concepts.
• Strong sense of urgency and reliable work ethic.
• Experience collaborating with adjacent disciplines in a highly integrated team.
• Solid written and oral communication abilities.
• Experience with structural analysis and CAD cleanup for analysis.
• Finite Element Analysis experience with Nastran or equivalent.
• Bolted Joint Analyses per NASA STD 5020.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis on metals, composites and assemblies.
• Develop specifications for structural components and designs.
• Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and modeling.
• Utilize tools like CATIA/IDEAS/ProE for geometry prep and analysis.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress and design teams.
