Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Iuka, MS, is seeking a Sr. Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on static strength and DaDT analyses for aircraft, with responsibilities spanning FE modeling, MRB/ASIP support, and repair analyses.

Required are 8+ years in aerospace structural analysis (or 6+ with a Master’s) and DoD Secret clearance eligibility, with experience in composites or metallic structures and FEMAP/NX Nastran workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years in aerospace structural analysis, or Master’s with 6+ years in aerospace structural analysis.
• Experience in bonded composite or metallic primary/secondary aircraft structures.
• Experience with finite element analysis.
• Proficiency in hand-sheet analysis and large FE model manipulation.
• MRB-related experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform static strength analyses and DaDT analyses for discrepant parts and assemblies in metal and composite materials.
• Develop and document detailed structural analyses in support of aircraft repairs, including load cases and stress calculations.
• Collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced personnel, and manage multiple priorities.
• Support MRB and Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) activities.
