Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Iuka, MS is seeking a Sr. Principal Structural Engineer to lead advanced aerospace structural analyses for primary and secondary aircraft structures.

You will use hand-sheet methods and finite element modeling, supporting MRB and ASIP while documenting detailed analyses and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop dispositions for discrepancies. Candidates must hold STEM degrees with significant experience and be able to obtain DoD Secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years in aerospace structural analysis.
• Master's degree in STEM with 6+ years in aerospace structural analysis.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEM) and structural analysis methods.
• Proficient in documentation of analyses and MRB activities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance; SAP clearance preferred.
• Experience with bonded composite or metallic primary/secondary aircraft structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses for discrepant parts and assemblies.
• Develop and document detailed analyses (FBDs, load cases, stress calculations).
• Support MRB and ASIP processes with disposition development.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior staff.
