Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Iuka, MS, is seeking a Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer to join a team of qualified, diverse individuals. The role focuses on stress analysis to support dispositions of flight hardware and repairs for discrepant parts manufactured from composite materials.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in STEM with experience, or a Master’s/PhD with related experience, and offers competitive salary ranges, benefits, and potential for overtime,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 2 years of related engineering experience for Level 2, or Master’s for Level 2.
• Level 3 requires 5 years of related experience, or Master’s with 2 years, or a PhD with 0 years.
• Experience with composite and metallic materials including allowable.
• Experience with finite element analysis and design analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provides stress analysis to support dispositions of flight hardware.
• Substantiate repairs for discrepant parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must.
• Knowledge of metallic or composite primary and secondary aircraft structures or subsystems.
• Performs finite element modeling of metallic and composite material components.
• Static, fatigue, dynamics, damage tolerance and other structural analysis methods are desirable.
