Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead modular simulation software development on site in multiple locations including San Diego, El Segundo, and Palmdale. You will guide an IPT, drive integration with system interfaces and test harnesses, and advance verification strategies.

The role requires a TS clearance, strong C++/Python skills, and a background in embedded or real-time software, with emphasis on performance and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of related engineering experience or advanced degree with fewer years.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python; strong software integration and testing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for development, implementation, and maintenance of modular simulation software.
• Lead integration of simulation components with system interfaces, middleware, and test harnesses.
• Define and oversee verification and validation strategies; review test plans and results.
• Drive performance tuning and CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Coordinate with systems engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into simulation capabilities.
