Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our on-site team in San Diego, Palmdale, El Segundo, or OKC. You will contribute to modular simulation and modeling software using C++, Python, and other tools, delivering real-time capabilities and scalable solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree with years of related engineering experience, and an active TS clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of related engineering experience, or advanced degree with fewer years.
• Experience in C/C++ development and full SDLC exposure.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance or eligibility.
• Ability to obtain SAP access via PAR prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain modular simulation and modeling software (C++, Python).
• Integrate components with interfaces, middleware, and test harnesses for real-time data flows.
• Design and execute verification and validation tests; fix defects for model fidelity.
• Optimize performance and support CI/CD pipelines for builds and deployments.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into simulation scenarios.
