Job summary

Procore is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead a strategic AI-native engineering agenda for the Workflows platform. You will architect multi-year solutions across web, backend, and AI agentic surfaces, while mentoring senior engineers and driving cross‑functional alignment with product, UX, and architecture teams.

You will stay hands-on where it matters, prototype high‑risk bets, and translate strategic objectives into durable technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in CS or equivalent work experience.
15+ years in software engineering with multi-year technical strategy.
Expertise across modern stack and distributed systems design.
Proven leadership in AI-native engineering and large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

Own a multi-year technical vision and architecture for foundational platform services.
Set architectural direction, standards, and patterns across engineering.
Act as final technical authority on major design decisions and influence across divisions.
Mentor Principal and Staff engineers and grow senior technical leaders.
Define AI-native engineering approach and evangelize adoption across teams.
Remain hands-on for high-risk bets, unblock initiatives, write code and docs.
Collaborate with VPs and executives to align technology with strategy.
