Job summary

Procore Technologies seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the long-term technical strategy for backend and AI services powering data applications and production-grade data platforms. You will shape architectural standards, drive AI enablement, and embed scalable, secure, cost-efficient solutions across products and internal platforms, while mentoring engineers and elevating cross-team practices.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in building scalable backend systems and data platforms.
• Experience delivering production-grade AI integrations and data driven apps.
• Understanding of REST/GraphQL API design, versioning and security.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and own long-term architecture for backend, data and AI services.
• Translate business priorities into scalable data platforms and APIs.
• Lead design of large-scale data platforms, streaming systems, and low-latency layers.
• Establish data modeling standards across domains for maintainability.
• Architect AI systems including LLM integration and RAG pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across teams.
