Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer in Reliability Engineering to design resilience into our store systems, payments, and COM platform. You will lead multiple engineering teams, drive cost-efficient cloud usage, and advocate best practices across the portfolio.

You will mentor engineers, influence technology roadmaps, and partner with 3rd party vendors to ensure interoperability within our tech landscape.

Qualifications

• Experience with chaotic environments and resilience design.
• Familiarity with error budgets and SRE practices.
• Background in building reliable, scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio level Principal discussions to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
• Architect and promote reusable code elements across teams and portfolios.
• Develop POCs with new technologies and drive portfolio-wide adoption and cost optimization.
• Mentor teams, escalate high-priority issues, and coordinate vendor engagements.
