Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a Senior Principal Platform Architect for UALink Switch Products to define end-to-end hardware, software, and management architecture for AI-scale switch platforms.

The role spans chassis topology, platform management (BMC/OpenBMC), secure firmware, and advanced RAS. Collaboration with silicon, system hardware, and cloud software teams is essential to enable scalable data-center deployments.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 20+ years of architectural experience in high-performance servers, hyperscale networks, or data centers.
• Expert knowledge of UALink, NVLink, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, or Ultra Ethernet.
• Deep expertise in Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, SPDM, and OpenBMC.
• Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams across hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end platform architecture for AI scale-up networks.
• Architect chassis topology, backplanes, and high-speed SerDes across PCBs.
• Design BMC/OpenBMC based platform management stack and security.
• Collaborate with hardware and cloud software teams to support data centers.
• Lead RAS, thermal, and power orchestration for dense compute clusters.
