Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a Senior Principal Platform Architect to define the end-to-end hardware, software, and management architecture for its next-generation AI scale-up UALink switch platform. You will integrate multi-ASIC backplanes, power, cooling, and platform management using OpenBMC, Redfish, and PLDM frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 20+ years architectural experience in high-performance server platforms, hyper-scale network switches, or data center infrastructure.
• Expert knowledge of high-speed platform fabrics and standards (UALink, NVLink, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, Ultra Ethernet).
• Deep expertise in management architectures (Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, SPDM, OpenBMC).
• Understanding of OS/VMM kernels, drivers, and platform init frameworks (UEFI, ACPI).
• Experience with modern rack architectures (OCP ORv3), liquid cooling, and high-density power delivery.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end hardware, software, and management architecture for next-gen AI scale-up switches.
• Architect platform ecosystems across backplanes, power, and cooling for multi-ASIC builds.
• Design BMC/OpenBMC based management stack and secure firmware update flows.
• Lead platform security lifecycle, enclave integration, and component attestation.
• Specify scalable RAS strategies and dynamic power/telemetry orchestration.
