Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Principal Network Engineer to integrate systems into a complex architecture leveraging Cisco SD-WAN, Aruba Edge-Connect, and Juniper SD-WAN. The role requires leading engineering exchanges, developing test strategies, and guiding secure, scalable deployments.

This is a Remote role in Dallas, TX with up to 25% travel; local to the area is preferred. The candidate will collaborate with Shore Based Engineering and Navy systems teams to ensure seamless integration and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/EE or related field with 14+ years of experience.
Minimum 5–8 years hands-on experience designing and supporting enterprise WAN routing environments.
Proficient in core network protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, VRFs, IPsec/VPNs; strong SD-WAN experience.
Expert-level hardware configuration: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba SD-WAN solutions.
Security: experience managing enterprise firewalls and web/proxy filters; DoD environment familiarity.

Responsibilities

Integrate and WAN Transport: engineer scalable network integration including IPsec/VPN, WAN, SD-WAN, Black Core and hybrid-cloud topologies.
Lead the configuration and migration of Navy Systems and Sites into the SD-WAN Fabric.
Ensure integration configurations comply with current accreditation.
Collaborate with Shore Based Engineering to articulate changes for customer integration.
Leverage Python/Ansible/Terraform to automate repetitive tasks and deployments.
Generate comprehensive Test Plans and Test Reports for engineering boards.
Produce and maintain network architecture diagrams, technical manuals, and configuration artifacts.
