Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems MQ-4 Triton Program in Rancho Bernardo, CA seeks a Principal Engineer/Senior Principal Engineer for Navigation to support the Vehicle Management System-Navigation team. Responsibilities include integrating navigation hardware, conducting lab and flight tests, troubleshooting Production/Field issues, and contributing to proposals and risk analyses.

The role requires strong GPS/IMU knowledge, RF device familiarity, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret

Qualifications

Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years' experience, or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1 year.
Senior level: Bachelor's with 8+ years, Master's with 6 years, or PhD with 3 years.
Knowledge of GPS, inertial sensors and RF devices and their interconnections.
Experience with MATLAB and MS Office; testing equipment like oscilloscopes, generators, analyzers, and multi-meters.
Ability to obtain/maintain final DoD Secret clearance and program access.

Responsibilities

Integrate navigation hardware with interfaces and redundancy.
Conduct investigations, system testing, and flight testing in labs.
Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting for Production and Field issues.
Support proposal development, technical planning, verification & validation, cost & risk analysis, and trade studies.
Convert customer requirements into total system solutions balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
