Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer (Level 4 - ITME) to join our team and lead integration and test activities for flight hardware. This in-person role requires a Top Secret clearance and ongoing collaboration with program management, design and logistics teams.

The Lead will coordinate multi-disciplinary efforts, oversee production readiness, and ensure adherence to schedule and quality across the Space Systems program portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM with 6–8+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience on multi-disciplinary IT&L or Manufacturing environments.
• Strong planning, resource and schedule execution with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for procurement, manufacturing, integration, test and delivery for work package, including cost/schedule and technical excellence.
• Design tests to verify system requirements and drive producibility in every phase.
• Develop detailed mechanical integration and test procedures for technicians to execute.
• Document and remedy test anomalies and hardware non-conformances.
• Coordinate across many technical disciplines to define operations and accomplish work efficiently.
• Operate within a restricted, multi-level production environment to protect program integrity.
