Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer for the SDS Launch Systems Infrastructure team in Roy, Utah. The role advances the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel GBSD program. On-site campus position with ~10% travel and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM with 5+ years of related experience; or Master’s with 3+ years of related experience.
• Senior Principal level requires 8 years with a bachelor’s or 6 years with a master’s.
• U.S. Citizen with active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms verified through test and analysis.
• Develop CAD models visualizing various design solutions.
• Deliver PDPs on time to meet program objectives.
• Support all phases of the systems life cycle: design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, maintenance.
• Identify design gaps and provide cost-effective, innovative resolutions with minimal impact.
• Ensure PDPs meet design requirements from specifications.
• Prepare and present reports, drawings, and interface with customers.
