Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group.

The role offers a path from senior engineer to principal engineer, mentoring others and leading projects across multiple locations, including Naperville, IL. You will contribute to cooling water systems, pumps, piping, and heat exchangers for existing or new power plants, and may lead valve replacement projects with client-facing responsibilities and technical reporting in a dynamic, safety-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Senior Level: Minimum 6 years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
• Principal: Minimum 10 years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• Good writing and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• US Citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Requirements.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality engineering documents including drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses meeting codes and standards.
• Adhere to client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements in engineering documents.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes, standards, and nuclear design techniques.
• Produce engineering deliverables that meet quality assurance standards and project scopes.
• Build lasting client relationships through clear communication and professional interactions.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Travel to plant sites for on-site walkdowns and evaluation of structures, systems, and components.
