Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Senior or Principal Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group in the United States. You will contribute to digital systems, sensors, and control architectures, mentoring others and leading project efforts across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in I&C design for nuclear plants, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree as listed in Qualifications.
• Minimum 6 years in design engineering of instrumentation and control systems; 10+ years for Principal Level.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for BWR or PWR units.
• Experience developing system requirement/ procurement specifications, design descriptions, test plans, and traceability matrices.
• US citizenship due to federal contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables: drawings, calculations, analyses meeting codes and client expectations.
• Develop engineering documents that exceed client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques.
• Deliver high-quality engineering solutions aligned with QA programs.
• Build trust with clients through clear communication and professional engagement.
• Collaborate across disciplines to create integrated designs.
• Provide field support with on-site plant walkdowns and verification.
