Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Lawrence, MA is seeking a seasoned engineer for Hi-Rel and Space power electronics.

You will drive design, characterization, and qualification of discrete devices, collaborating with foundry, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust products. You will lead engineering efforts for new product qualification, mentor junior staff, and support documentation while interfacing with Marketing and Planning.

Qualifications

• BSEE or relevant Engineering Degree, MS preferred.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment in Product Engineering, preferably for discrete devices.
• Experience with AC/DC electrical parameter testing for diodes, transistors and MOSFET, including hands-on test characterization and analysis.
• Experience in radiation effects and testing including TID, SEE & ELDRS.

Responsibilities

• Drive yield and quality improvement with foundry, test, manufacturing, and QA engineers.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to qualify materials and electronic packages.
• Discrete product design, characterization, and qualification.
• Provide custom product engineering support and mentor junior team members.
• Create and review product documentation (Travelers, Data Sheets) and work with Document Control.
• Identify new product BOMs and support readiness for production.
