Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer – Fuze & Initiation Systems for the Energetics and Propulsion Department. The role focuses on the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs, including power systems and safety initiators for missiles and space vehicles.

Onsite work with frequent government interface and travel. Qualified candidates have 10+ years in fuzing/one shots, strong design and verification experience, and the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 10 years of relevant experience OR advanced degree with 7 years of experience.
• Ten years of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design.
• Experience with fuzing device design, manufacturing, testing, safety certification or compliance.
• US security clearance ability and U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced technologies and theories to integrate fuzing devices and interfaces into missile systems and space vehicles.
• Involvement with development and production programs across Raytheon product lines.
• Review manufacturing processes and work with subcontractors on design and manufacturing of fuzing devices.
• Collaborate with program management on long-range planning and communicate technical capabilities to management and government agencies.
• Manage fuzing device development projects and subcontractor activities; review data and change requests.
