Job summary

Northwest Talent Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer – Weapons Fuzing to advance next‑gen fuze capabilities for autonomous ground munitions and guided weapons. You will provide senior technical leadership across the fuze lifecycle and shape safety, sensing, and testing programs.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on fuze design experience, strong knowledge of MIL‑STD environments, and a track record of fielding reliable safety‑critical electronics.

Qualifications

• Active Department of Defense Secret clearance at the time of hire
• U.S. citizenship
• Significant hands‑on fuze systems experience
• Environmental sensing design experience
• Environmental testing/qualification experience for fuze systems
• Safe & Arm mechanism design
• Firing chain design, including CDU/EFI
• Fuze system‑level requirements decomposition
• Self‑destruct/self‑neutralization design experience
• Experience developing high‑reliability electronics for safety‑or‑mission‑critical systems

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on technical leadership across the fuze development lifecycle
• Architect and develop ESAF/ESAD systems
• Design Safe & Arm mechanisms and firing chains
• Develop environmental sensing for release, setback, spin, and all‑up‑round environments
• Lead environmental qualification and testing of fuze systems
• Support fuze safety certification and review activities
• Mentor engineers and help build sustainable technical capability within the organization
• Decompose system requirements across ESD, S&A, firing circuitry and software
• Develop Built‑in Test capabilities for S&A, battery, and sensor health
• Conduct or oversee failure analysis and root‑cause investigation
